Pocket Thursday Week 40

Hi Everyone,
Today I finished my week 40 layout.  I was really hoping to get 2 weeks done, but sometimes things just don't go as planned but I did get one week done so at least I'm not further behind.

I used a bunch of stuff from my stash.  All the cards are from the Project Life Planner Themed Cards.  The Thickers are Éclair Glitter Foam Stickers.  The letter stickers are Basic Grey Green at Heart.  All the rest of the items were random things.
Thanks for looking.
Please let me know what you think.

Traditional Tuesday 6

Hi Everyone,
I had these pictures from a few years ago of a weekend trip we took.  I had a lot of pictures so I thought I needed to get a lot of pictures onto a page.  So I pulled out my CTMH Imagine book and looked for a layout that lots of pictures.  I decided to use "Conclusion Combo".  I love to do this because it makes it so easy to pull together a page and it looks good.

Thanks for looking.  Please let me know what you think.

Moved Cards

Hi Everyone,
Today I created several cards.  My mother in law asked me to make her some
cards to send to her friends.  So I decided to make a small selection for her.

All of the supplies came from my stash.  Most of the products are several years old.
I really like how most of them turned out.  Which one do you like best?
Thanks for looking.
Please let me know what you think.

Pocket Thursday Week 38

Hi Everyone
Today I worked on my Week 38 Project Life Page.  I only had a few pictures so this one was a bit difficult for me.   I'm use to having too many photos.  I think I made it work.

Thanks for looking. Please let me know what you think.

C.C. Designs Card

Hi Everyone.

I haven't made a card in a while so I need to sit down and see what I could create.  I received a new stamp for the store and couldn't resist using it.  This is the card I came up with.
It was a pretty simple card.  I cut some patterned paper to 4x5 1/4.  I die cut an oval.  Stamped the girl and colored her with my Copic Markers.  I stamped the banner and greeting and cut it out.  I then colored it with Copics to match my image.  I also cut another small strip of patterned paper to add a little to the card.  Thanks for looking.  Please let me know what you think.

31 Day Art Journal Challenge Day 12

Day 12 Challenge is
Create like a child.

For this challenge I decided to go old school, so I borrowed my daughters crayons and colored a scene.  That is one of the things I loved to color as a child.
I also wanted to share my daughter's drawing.  She is 8.  She loves Monster High and wanted to draw a pet.
Thanks for looking.  Please let me know what you think.

31 Day Art Journal Challenge Day 11

Day 11 Challenge is
What your Taste buds desire
Feature one of your favorite recipes.

My favorite season is fall and one of the many reasons is I can make one of my favorite recipes.  Cranberry Banana Bread!

So I made this page pretty simple.  I am really happy I did this page because it seems like every time I want to make this bread I can't find the little book.

Thanks for looking.  Please let me know what you think.

31 Day Art Journal Challenge Day 10

Day's 10 Challenge is
Searching for Inspiration.
Draw or Write about what inspires you.

I did this page clean and simple.  I used a pencil, a pen and Copic Markers.

I am a few days behind on the challenge.  I am hoping to catch up again.  I have been spending a lot of time with our family dog who had surgery on Thursday.  She is recovering well but needs a lot of attention.

31 Day Art Journal Challenge Day 9

Today's Challenge was
Incorporate your favorite product
label into your page!

This one was really tough for me.  I think there are so many products out there that have great packaging, but I usually don't buy them.  I went shopping and looked for a cool product with great packaging and I found some cool things, but I wasn't sure if I would actually use the products.  So I came home and saw the hot chocolate box.  I have been obsessed with hot chocolate lately.  So I cut up the box.  This is what I came up with.

I used distress inks in Walnut Stain and Tea Dye.  Then I added texture paste over a Studio Calico stencil.  I poured embossing powder onto the texture paste when it was still wet and heat set it and made it bubble.  I then added distress paint in Black Soot and Picket Fence.  I stamped some stars with a Paper Smooches stamp and chalk ink.  I then had a bunch of left over star chipboard pieces and die cuts mostly from Basic Grey.
Thanks for looking.
Let me know what you think.

Pocket Thursday Week 37

Hi Everyone
Today I worked on my Week 37 spread.  I used the Kaiser Craft Captured Moments Hear & Now cards.  I love these colors and designs.  I also used some Thickers for my title card and some cork alpha from a Studio Calico kit I had in my stash.  I also used some cork shapes from Close to My Heart and Freckled Fawn.  I also used a little bit of my favorite washi tape from Studio Calico.  My date stamp is from Recollections and I used Close to My Heart ink.

31 Day Art Journal Challenge Day 8

Today's Challenge is
Create the Moon!

I started with masking paper and Mustard Seed Distress Paint.  It seems like I am using these paints a lot.  I made the moon first and then I started adding color. I added Broken China, Seedless Preserves and Black Soot.  I mixed some of the colors to get grey.  The moon was a little too yellow so I added some Pickett Fence.  I also dropped some water on it to give it texture and painted some clouds.   I also took a brush with water and mixed the colors together just so it blended a little better.  I then painted my tree and stamped my little owl and painted the words.

So here it is.
Thanks for looking.  Please let me know what you think.

Traditional Tuesday 3

Wow 3 blog posts in 1 day.

I haven't done a traditional page in a few weeks and wanted to get back on schedule.  I found these 2 pictures of my kids from several years ago.  Every time I see these pictures it makes me smile.  I used a Basic Grey kit, that I have had for a few years.

Thanks for looking.  Please let me know what you think.

31 Day Art Journal Challenge Day 7

Today's Challenge is to
Pattern Play
Create Quilt Patchwork Inspiration.!

I pulled out some scraps of paper and decided to create a scene.

31 Day Art Journal Challenge Day 6

Today's challenge was
Create Something with Wings.

Most people that know me know that I love turtles and tortoises.  So I wanted to draw a tortoise with wings.  I have never been much of a drawer, but I decided to give it a shot.  I kind of cheated and used one of my daughter's how to draw animals book.  I love how the tortoise turned out, I almost didn't want to put wings on him.  I also didn't want to color it or do anything else to it because I like it just the way it is.

Thanks for looking.  Please let me know what you think.

31 Day Art Journal Challenge Day 5 (Mixed Media Monday)

Today's Challenge is
Create Using Horizontal Stripes.

I started using some spray to create a background and then I added some stripes of paint.
Then I took one of my kids coloring books and picked a cute picture from it.  I then found a bunch of striped paper and did some paper piecing.  This is what I came up with.
Thanks for looking.  Let me know what you think.

31 Day Art Journal Challange Day 4

Today's Challenge was
Choose one color and create a page using only shades of that color.
Feel free to use black and white.

My favorite color is teal.  So I started doodling on the page and then added some Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Peacock Feathers.
It was a little too dark for me so I added some distress paint and some sprays.  This is how it turned out.

Thanks for looking.  Please let me know what you think.
